Meet Susanne Abdelrahman, QA Manager at TheLadders.
At TheLadders, we know a company is only as good as the employees who build it, and we're proud to have a remarkable amount of talent in our SoHo office. We’d love for you to get to know some of the extraordinary team members who make TheLadders the premier mobile career network committed to finding the right person for the right job. So sit back, relax, and enjoy a few minutes with one of our own.
What do you do at TheLadders?
I manage the Quality Assurance (QA) team – our job is to advocate for our customers and work with the engineering and product teams to deliver high-quality products to our customers.
What made you decide to work at TheLadders after interviewing?
The people! I joined TheLadders as a "Community Associate," so I interviewed with other members of the customer service team. CS can be a very unglamorous job, but everyone I spoke with that day seemed to really enjoy their jobs and be passionate about TheLadders’ mission - after that I was sold.
What’s your best work memory?
I have a lot to choose from, but if I had to pick one it would be wrapping up my first large release after joining the QA team as a junior tester. When the first project that I tested was deployed to production and the entire site didn’t come tumbling down – man that was a great feeling! Equal parts relief and pride.
Why do you like about working here?
Again, the people! I feel extremely fortunate to work with such a smart and talented group of people – and they make me challenge myself to become better. Also, the catered lunches are great too.
What’s your favorite NYC neighborhood?
Astoria - it’s such an eclectic neighborhood and the restaurants are great!
Where did you grow up?
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A math teacher. I still think about teaching sometimes but I’m not sure that I have the patience for it…
Which mobile app do you use the most?
I’m a little embarrassed to admit it, but Facebook. It’s one of the best ways for me to stay in touch with my very large extended family.
It’s 8pm on a Tuesday. What are you doing?
Lounging at home in sweatpants, drinking a cup of tea and reading a book.
It’s 8pm on a Saturday. What are you doing?
Probably the same thing haha
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
Predicting the future (and then immediately going out and buying a mega millions lottery ticket)
What’s your go-to joke?
What’s Forrest Gump’s password?
