Dr. Gavin Michael is the Head of Digital for Consumer & Community Banking at Chase. He manages the Mobile and Electronic Payments departments and Chase.com, driving and executing the Chase mobile and digital channels. Most recently, he was the Chief Technology Innovation Officer at Accenture, driving innovation, technology and R&D strategy. Prior to Accenture, Gavin worked in various senior technology roles at Lloyd’s Bank, National Australia Bank, IBM, 724 Solutions, Lucent Technology and Fujitsu Australia Software Technologies. Gavin received his PhD in computer science from Australian National University and his undergraduate degree from the University of Western Australia.
Chase’s mobile user base is 41% as large as its online user base, with likely a great deal of overlap. In April 2013, Chase was ranked first globally for mobile banking functionality by Forrester Research, and received its third consecutive win for the overall mobile web experience in the first quarter of 2013 by Keynote.
