I had a fantastic time at TheLadders Connect event last week in NYC representing Hewlett-Packard on a panel discussion about a multi-generational workforce with the growing population of Millennials. TheLadders put on a first-class event that was well-attended by over 150 HR and Recruiting professionals in the NYC area. At the event they announced some new free services for recruiters and their focus on capturing the mobile recruiting platform of the future helping us reach candidates through relevant and effective cutting-edge technology.
As one of THE first startups, HP continues to innovate and our talent acquisition strategy is no different. We are truly re-shaping our talent attraction lens, driving a more balanced job level mix internally while enabling HP to build skilled talent to compete in this global market.
We are targeting university hiring as the foundation for external talent while focusing on building strong internal capabilities and promoting internal talent to more senior roles. Our focus on attracting Millennial’s is the cornerstone of our talent strategy. Once inside HP, Millennials can join employee network groups, give back to their community, work on exciting global and local projects to develop the future technology of the world, just like Dave Hewlett and Bill Packard did 75 years ago.
